Tracking Prior Authorization Status

Monitor all pending, approved, and denied authorizations in one place with real-time status updates and expiration alerts.

1

Access the Auth Center

Navigate to Auth Center from the dashboard sidebar. The main view shows all authorizations organized by status: Pending (yellow), Approved (green), Expiring Soon (orange), Denied (red), and Expired (gray).

2

Understanding status indicators

Each authorization card shows: patient name, payer, requested/approved visits, visits used, date range, and days until expiration. The progress bar shows visit utilization — green when on track, orange when approaching the limit, red when exceeded.

3

Setting up expiration alerts

Configure alerts in Settings > Notifications > Authorization Alerts. Set thresholds for: visits remaining (default: 5), days until expiration (default: 14), and renewal submission lead time (default: 7 days before threshold).

4

Bulk status updates

For practices managing hundreds of authorizations, use the bulk update feature to check status on multiple auths simultaneously. Alex queries payer portals and updates statuses in batch, saving hours of manual portal checking.
